The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and updating a variety of administrative materials by capturing complex information and transforming it into clear, concise documents in support of the contract mission. This position will be located onsite and will be required to work with a variety of personnel, including senior leadership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Create and update a variety of technical and administrative materials, including reports, manuals, installation, operation, maintenance guides, proposals, and training documentation
· Work directly with a variety of personnel to capture complex information and transform it into clear, concise, and user-friendly documents
· Utilize word processing and publishing tools to produce materials such as memos, forms, publications, reports, tables, and graphs
· Edi and reformat drafts (written or electronic) to meet quality and style requirements
· Collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, logisticians, and customers to gather technical details and translate them into comprehensive documentation
· Create pictorial and line-drawn instructions to enhance written materials
· Refine and coordinate the work of other writers when necessary to ensure a cohesive and polished product
· Ensuring compliance with customer standards
· Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or another related field Required
Licenses & Certifications:
· Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance
Experience:
· 3+ years of technical writing experience
· Familiarity with military system documentation
· Experience working in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teams
Skills & Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
· High level of detail
· Ability to refine and edit technical information for clarity and accuracy
· Proficiency in technical writing tools and software
· Ability to work with various levels of personnel
· Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Other:
· Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required
