Major Job Functions:
· Delivering training for apprentices in engineering roles to complete their apprenticeships within Finning UK & Ireland. Working in conjunction with training providers as necessary to offer an outstanding service. Offering necessary advice and guidance to ensure apprentices complete their apprenticeship considering their individual needs. Assessing apprentices work, offering motivational feedback that stretches and challenges them to achieve the highest results. Working closely with the apprenticeship quality manager and team to deliver an outstanding apprenticeship programme. Utilising blended learning techniques to maximise training opportunities for Finning employees.
· Ensuring that individual records are updated on apprentices and produce data as and when required for governance of the programme. Ensuring that training is delivered to meet the current service specification and adopts a safe, inclusive and customer service culture. Working with the team to produce annual training plans for the apprentices that support the business strategy, apprenticeship programme and promote the individual needs and learning of apprentices.
· Working with the apprenticeship and recruitment team to recruit new apprentices into the business promoting diversity and inclusion. Working as an ambassador of the programme to encourage new talent into the apprenticeship programme.
· Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of apprenticeship training, giving feedback to apprentices in review meetings and collecting feedback from own training delivery. Making improvements as appropriate.
· Maintain own continuous professional development (CPD). Keeping all training relevant and current in line with Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) requirements. Committing to CPD and achieving own professional qualifications. Attend meetings to standardise the curriculum delivery and share best practice.

Specific Skills:
Essential:
· Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or a related engineering discipline.
· Minimum 4 years’ hands-on experience as an engineer in:
o Construction Plant sector, or
o Electric Power sector, or
o A closely related/transferable industry.
· Strong understanding of Caterpillar equipment and systems (or willingness to learn).
· Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders with different levels of seniority.
· Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills.
· Microsoft Office skills, including Word and PowerPoint skills.
· Engaging training delivery style.
· Flexible and adaptable to a rapidly changing commercial environment.
· Understands Health & Safety requirements.
· Understands principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
· Ability to give feedback to learners.
Desirable:
· Ability to deliver further education programmes (apprenticeships).

Accountability:
· Under the direction of the Engineering Academy Manager assessing work to give timely and accurate decisions, support, advice and guidance to apprentices to ensure that they are on targets. Stretching and challenging apprentices to reach high targets. Assisting the Apprenticeship Programme Manager as required in the roll out of an outstanding apprenticeship programme. Offering relevant support, guidance and coaching/mentoring. Going the extra mile to ensure that apprentices complete with the highest achievement. Updating the online E-portfolio system, assessing work and giving feedback, monitoring and communicating with managers.
Education & Experience:
· To achieve within a timely manner Level 4 or above qualification in Assessor Coach/TAQA and IQA.
· Outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate at differing levels.
· Effective Time management skills and organisation skills.
· IT skills with MS Office experience.
· Ability to operate in an unbiased way encouraging Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
· Ability to drive and hold a drivers’ license.
Desirable:
· Certified training qualification (TAQA, A1, Assessor award) or equivalent.
· Coaching or Mentoring certificate.
