Job Description
General Motors is building one of the most ambitious AI programs in manufacturing — systems capable of autonomously manipulating thousands of parts across GM’s global plant network.
This effort combines robotics, machine learning, large-scale data infrastructure, simulation environments, and real-world factory deployments. Our team is developing multiple AI capabilities in parallel, including perception-based manipulation, grasp pose estimation, hierarchical planning, and vision-language-action models.
We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to drive execution across this program. In this role, you will operate at the center of the initiative, coordinating work across AI research, robotics engineering, data infrastructure, simulation platforms, and manufacturing deployment teams. You will help translate complex technical work into structured execution plans and support the delivery of production-ready AI robotics systems at manufacturing scale.
Drive Program Execution
Lead program execution across AI research, robotics development, simulation, and factory deployment workstreams
Track milestones, manage dependencies, and resolve cross-team blockers
Run program reviews and coordination loops across AI Research, Robotics Engineering, Data Engineering, and Manufacturing teams
Lead Data Program Execution
Drive data strategy across multiple sources including factory robotic systems, simulation-generated data, teleoperation data collection, and internal datasets
Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure data pipelines support model training, evaluation, and deployment
Communicate Program Progress
Prepare structured updates on program progress, risks, and key decisions for leadership
Translate complex technical developments into clear executive-level insights
Support strategic documents related to partnerships and major program investments
Align Cross-Functional Teams
Coordinate execution across AI research, robotics engineering, infrastructure platforms, and manufacturing operations
Manage dependencies between simulation environments, lab systems, data infrastructure, and model development
Support technical discussions with external robotics and AI partners when needed
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in technical program management or product management
3+ years supporting AI, machine learning, or robotics programs
Experience managing complex technical programs across multiple teams and workstreams
Technical depth to collaborate effectively with AI researchers, robotics engineers, and data engineers
Experience with machine learning pipelines and data infrastructure, including data ingestion, labeling, evaluation, and deployment workflows
Ability to translate complex technical progress into clear executive communications
Experience supporting data programs including data collection strategies, annotation workflows, and pipeline development
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced technical environments with evolving priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Background in robotics, computer vision, or physical AI systems
Familiarity with robotics concepts such as 6DoF pose estimation, grasp planning, sim-to-real transfer, and behavior cloning
Experience evaluating or deploying foundation models
Familiarity with robotics tools such as Isaac Sim, ROS/ROS2, Foxglove, or MCAP
Experience working with AI systems in manufacturing or industrial environments
Experience managing large-scale data annotation programs or evaluation frameworks
Experience working with external robotics or AI technology partners
