We’re seeking a hands-on technical leader who can operate as a Staff Software Engineer and lead a small engineering team. You’ll drive backend design and delivery for Network Observability capabilities, guide technical decisions, and partner cross-functionally to ship high-quality software in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and design (including creating and maintaining design diagrams and documentation).
- Build reusable, testable, efficient backend services and APIs.
- Provide hands-on technical direction, resolve complex issues, and make key implementation decisions.
- Lead and mentor a small team (5–10), supporting growth, performance, and engagement.
- Manage execution: planning, prioritization, sprint delivery, and removing blockers.
- Implement security best practices, data protection measures, and quality standards.
- Contribute to automated testing and CI practices to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and operations; coordinate training and support for delivered solutions.
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Strong backend engineering experience delivering production systems.
- Java experience and REST API integration (any framework).
- Strong understanding of open source and open standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated mentoring and people leadership skills.
One or more of following areas strongly preferred:
- Databases Knowledge – Clickhouse
OpenTelemetry
SNMP, NetFlow, network telemetry APIs
Nice to Have:
- Python
- Linux
- Familiarity with AI coding tools
