Job Description Summary

Step into the Technical Lead – Field Service Management (FSM) role and make your mark at the heart of Service Stream’s enterprise FSM platform. This is a genuine technical lead opportunity—not a people management position—perfect for a savvy, driven professional who thrives on solving complex challenges, shaping standards, and leading technical innovation. If you have a knack for driving change, bringing maturity to platforms, and raising the bar for application excellence, we want you on our team.

You’ll collaborate with the Technical Lead – Integration, Functional Lead, operational stakeholders, and technology teams as the go-to technical authority for FSM technical architecture, development, and configuration. Your expertise will set the benchmark for best practice, ensuring solution integrity and quality across both project delivery and BAU environments—while lifting others up and helping them grow technically.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Melbourne, offering hybrid working arrangements. Please note, only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply.

About the Role

•Own the technical architecture and design of the enterprise FSM platforms, including development, configuration and solution patterns.
• Provide technical leadership across projects and BAU to ensure stability, performance, and high‑quality outcomes.
• Champion code quality, configuration standards, testing discipline and governed release management.
• Act as the primary technical authority for FSM development, scripting, configuration and integration design.
• Work in partnership with the Functional Lead and Technical Lead – Integration to translate requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Serve as a technical conduit between Business Operations, IT Operations and Projects to ensure solutions are operationally fit‑for‑purpose.
• Influence delivery teams and vendors through deep technical expertise and structured decision‑making.
• Ensure adherence to application and development best practices, security standards and configuration‑over‑customisation principles.
• Lead technical governance across releases, enhancements and BAU change.
• Oversee incident, problem and defect resolution, focusing on root cause analysis and reducing technical debt.
• Review and approve technical designs, code, configurations and architecture artefacts.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and technical architectural records.
• Mentor and uplift developers and analysts to strengthen team capability.
• Support effective project‑to‑BAU transition through structured technical handover and documentation.

• Roll your sleeves up and build, fix and improve exsisting and new technical outcomes and data flows.

• Transverse both the project delivery world and BAU IT Operations, driving excellence, fixing problems and being a trusted escalation point.
