Senior Project Manager – Collins ISCMMS LOTE

The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who can lead the successful delivery of large – scale defence projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders in a highly complex environment The Senior Project Manager provides leadership of a complex project (or a programme) involving multiple internal as well as external stakeholders. This includes the day-to-day management of the assigned Project / Programme Management Team. The successful candidate would be responsible for the outcome of the project/programme, including cost/margin, schedule, scope, quality, customer satisfaction and any other project objectives as defined in the Contract/Project Directive.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Definition, management, and ownership of the scope of work, including schedule, cost/margin and quality outcomes for the project/programme.
  • Provide leadership, direction and delegation to the Project/Programme Management Team, as required.
  • Development of the project/programme approach to achieve project, programme and corporate outcomes as per Contract/Project Directive, including identification of opportunity in order to maximise outcomes.
  • Prepare, monitor and revise plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the project/programme to meet the objectives set by the Contract/Project Directive.
  • Assess risk related to the project/programme.
  • Lead and present status at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress Meetings.
  • Manage Contract Variations and scope change.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on the use of the solution(s).
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Demonstrated leadership in high-risk or mission – critical projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the lifecycle of system development projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff within a team environment and to foster cooperation within and between teams.
  • Proven experience in managing complex programs in defence environments.
  • Proven ability in internal and external customer liaison.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing project documentation.
  • Demonstrated scheduling and planning skills.
  • Knowledge and experience across system domains.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or in a Business discipline
  • Experience meeting the requirement of the competency level as per above.
  • Good understanding of best practice Project Management
  • Meeting the requirements of Australian Institute of Project Management CPPD accreditation or similar.
  • Experience in Cost Schedule System Reporting (CSSR) or related Earned Value Management system.

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Citizenship and hold Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1/NV2 level. [if role has ITAR requirement] Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
