What you’ll achieve

We are looking for a Technical Lead to play a key role in shaping the evolution of a mission-critical enterprise platform within the product organisation. 
You will be responsible for driving sustainable modernization while ensuring system stability, performance and regulatory compliance. 

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic thinking, enabling the platform to evolve toward a more modular, scalable and resilient architecture under real-world constraints. 

You act as a technical reference across teams, ensuring consistency, quality and long-term sustainability of engineering practices.

This role combines:

Scope & Governance 

  • Technical leadership across a mission-critical enterprise platform 
  • Influence and coordination across multiple development teams (no direct people management) 
  • Ensure alignment of technical decisions, standards and practices across teams 
  • Contribute to governance of architecture, development practices and release quality
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Architecture and QA 

 

Strategic Priorities 

  • Controlled and incremental modernization of legacy systems 
  • Technical consistency, maintainability and code quality 
  • Risk-aware development ensuring production stability and reliability 

You will be in charge of:

1) Technical Leadership & Code Ownership

  • Drive the evolution of a complex legacy codebase through controlled and incremental improvements 
  • Ensure technical integrity, coherence and maintainability of the system
  • Guide design and implementation decisions across teams
  • Act as a reference for complex technical problem-solving

2) Modernization & Architecture Evolution 

  • Lead modernization initiatives while preserving system behavior and stability 
  • Contribute to transitioning toward modular and scalable architectures 
  • Ensure alignment between legacy constraints and future architecture direction
 

3) Risk Management & Stability

  • Ensure all changes are introduced with strong focus on risk mitigation 
  • Perform impact analysis and ensure backward compatibility 
  • Maintain high standards for production stability in a high-availability environment 
  • Improve system performance, resilience and security

4) Engineering Practices & Quality

  • Define and enforce strong development, testing and release practices 
  • Reduce reliance on downstream validation by improving upstream quality 
  • Promote best practices in versioning, code quality and maintainability 

5) Cross-Team Coordination 

  • Coordinate technical work across multiple teams 
  • Ensure consistent implementation standards and architectural alignment 
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams

Essential Requirements

  • Strong hands-on developer with deep expertise in Java and enterprise platforms 
  • Proven experience working with  large, complex legacy systems
  • Experience in refactoring, stabilization and gradual modernization Strong understanding of risk-aware development and production stability 
  • Experience coordinating technical work across distributed teams 
  • Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset 
  • Strong communication skills across technical stakeholders
  • Fluent English
