TD SYNNEX

Technical ITAM Analyst (Hardware & Discovery)

Bogota, Colombia Full time

Role Purpose

The purpose of the ITAM Analyst role is to support the day‑to‑day execution of IT Asset Management by collecting, maintaining, and validating asset data, identifying risks and discrepancies, and ensuring that ITAM processes are followed consistently.
The role translates defined ITAM policies and processes into accurate operational data that supports compliance, cost control, and decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Normalization & Remediation: Use Flexera to identify and fix data discrepancies. You will ensure hardware models, serial numbers, and technical specifications are correctly categorized and mapped.
  • Discovery Health Monitoring: Monitor the health of Flexera agents and beacons across the global estate. Identify "blind spots" where hardware is not reporting and work with local IT to restore visibility.
  • Regional Support: Act as the first point of contact for regional ITAM representatives. Provide them with technical guidance on how to correctly update asset statuses and use the global toolset.
  • CMDB Alignment: Perform regular reconciliations between Flexera and our ITSM (EasyVista) to ensure hardware lifecycle states (e.g., In Stock, In Repair, Retired) are synchronized.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Create technical reports on asset health, hardware age, and discovery coverage to help the Manager identify risks and areas for improvement.
  • Hardware Lifecycle Support: Assist in the technical "offboarding" of equipment, ensuring that retired assets are properly decommissioned in the system and data is wiped/verified according to policy.

Technical Profile

  • Flexera Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience using Flexera One or FlexNet Manager (specifically the Hardware/ITAM modules).
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Strong ability to investigate why a device is missing from discovery tools (checking logs, network connectivity, or agent status).
  • Endpoint Tools Knowledge: Familiarity with how tools like InTune, Nagios, or SolarWinds, … collect and report hardware inventory data.
  • Data Literacy: Proficient in Excel (lookups and pivots are your best friends) and basic SQL to pull and compare datasets from different sources.
  • Detail Oriented: You have a natural instinct for spotting "bad data" (e.g., duplicate serial numbers or mismatched hardware specs).

Soft Skills

  • Collaboration: You enjoy working with diverse teams across different time zones.
  • Patience & Persistence: You are comfortable digging through complex data until you find the root cause of a technical discrepancy.
  • Clarity: You can explain a technical process or a data requirement clearly to local IT staff who may have competing priorities.

Knowledge

  • IT Asset Management Fundamentals – Understanding of asset lifecycle concepts and ITAM practices.
  • IT Service Management (Awareness) – Knowledge of how asset data supports ITSM processes such as Incident, Request, and Change.
  • Compliance & Audit Concepts – Understanding the role of accurate asset data in audits and compliance reviews.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, Service Desk, or IT Support roles
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining asset inventories and operational records
  • Exposure to audits, license reviews, or compliance activities
  • Comfortable working with structured processes and standardized tools in a team environment
