Position Title: Technical Executive

Department: Engineering & Technical Services / Facilities Management

Reports To: Technical Services Manager / Chief Engineer

Position Summary: The Technical Executive is responsible for overseeing building systems operations, maintenance programs, and technical infrastructure across assigned properties. This role ensures optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and energy efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Building Systems Management Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems. Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platforms. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules. Ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency. Manage emergency response procedures for technical failures.

Maintenance & Engineering Operations Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs and schedules. Supervise technical staff and coordinate with external contractors. Conduct regular system inspections and performance assessments. Manage work orders, maintenance records, and equipment databases. Oversee capital improvement projects and system upgrades.

Compliance & Safety Management Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Coordinate regulatory inspections and maintain required certifications. Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures. Manage risk assessments and incident reporting. Oversee contractor safety compliance and permit requirements.

Energy & Sustainability Monitor and analyze energy consumption patterns and costs. Identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and cost reduction. Implement sustainability initiatives and green building practices. Prepare energy reports and sustainability metrics. Coordinate utility management and vendor relationships.

Project Management & Planning Plan and execute technical projects including system installations, renovations, and upgrades. Prepare project specifications, budgets, and timelines. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors. Manage project procurement and vendor selection. Ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines.

Budget & Cost Control Assist in developing annual technical services budgets and capital expenditure plans. Monitor maintenance costs and identify cost optimization opportunities. Review contractor invoices and manage purchase orders. Track equipment lifecycle and replacement planning. Prepare financial reports and variance analyses.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil), Facilities Management, or related technical field. 5-7 years experience in building operations, maintenance, or engineering. Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety. Professional engineering license or relevant technical certifications preferred. Proficiency in building automation systems and maintenance management software.

Technical Skills: Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, experience with energy management and HVAC controls, familiarity with project management methodologies, proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and facilities management software systems.
