This position is responsible for identifying, engaging, and developing business opportunities with laser integrator companies to expand the market presence of TRUMPF TruFiber products. The role entails actively prospecting new customers, driving strategic market growth against established competitors, and ensuring high-quality execution across all business development activities.

The Technical Business Development Manager will work closely with regional sales, technical, integration, and marketing teams to generate qualified leads, manage opportunities, and support customer success throughout the sales process. A strong focus on data quality, structured follow-up, and collaboration is essential to ensure that opportunities are effectively converted into long-term partnerships.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

 

Market Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Identify and qualify potential laser integrator companies and other relevant industry partners.
  • Conduct targeted outreach and establish initial contact with key decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Work together with marketing to generate leads
  • Participate in tradeshows and industry events
  • Build networks through industry associations, research organizations
  • Build personal and company online presence via professional networking platforms and integrated

Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

  • Visit customers nationally and engage with laser integrators, from shop floor to management
  • Drive awareness and adoption of TRUMPF Fiber Lasers and other products in new and existing markets.
  • Develop competitive positioning strategies to capture market share from established brands.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor activities to inform business strategy.

CRM Management & Data Quality

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
  • Track prospecting activities, opportunity stages, and customer interactions.
  • Ensure data integrity to enable clear reporting and sales forecasting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the applications and integration teams to ensure customers receive the right solutions and support.
  • Partner with regional sales teams to transfer qualified leads and opportunities for closure.
  • Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging, campaigns, and event participation to support business growth.

Customer Engagement and Follow-Up

  • Nurture leads through consistent follow-up and communication.
  • Coordinate technical demonstrations, product presentations, and joint customer visits.
  • Build long-term relationships that support recurring business and referrals.

Travel

  • Up to 80% travel required, including overnight and international travel
  • Must maintain Valid Driver’s License

 

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B business development, industrial sales, or partner management (preferably in the laser, automation, or manufacturing technology sectors).
  • Strong understanding of integrator business models and industrial sales processes.
  • Proven ability to manage pipelines, qualify leads, and execute strategic prospecting campaigns.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and time zones.
