Technical Assistant

Knightsbridge Full time
Technical Assistant

We are looking for a Technical Assistant to play a key role in ensuring food quality, safety, and compliance across our product categories.

About the Role

As a Technical Assistant, you’ll support the Category Technical Manager and wider technical team in delivering our Food Safety and Technical Strategy. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of product legality, quality, and safety, while driving continuous improvement and supporting supplier and product compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting supplier onboarding and ensuring accurate setup in technical systems and SEDEX.
  • Assisting with product specification completion and legal information accuracy for customer-facing platforms.
  • Coordinating complaint investigations and quality benchmarking activities.
  • Managing surveillance testing schedules and third-party testing relationships.
  • Maintaining documentation, tracking KPIs, and preparing reports to support technical and supplier performance.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about food safety and compliance. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and are confident working both independently and collaboratively. Your communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
