As a Technical and Injury Management Specialist Leader, you will provide leadership and oversight to a team of specialists who support the claims function through technical expertise and proactive injury management strategies. You will play a key role in guiding complex decision making, strengthening injury management practices, and supporting the claims teams to deliver early, safe and sustainable return to work outcomes.
This role combines people leadership with deep technical expertise, giving you the opportunity to coach and develop your team while also partnering with leaders across the business to improve claims management practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This will be a full-time, permanent position based in our Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 2 days per week) considered from month three, subject to performance and approval.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership, coaching and development to a team of Technical and Injury Management Specialists
Conduct technical and injury management reviews of complex claims to ensure proactive strategies and strong case management practices
Act as a key escalation point for technical and injury management matters across the claims teams
Partner with leaders and stakeholders to improve injury management capability and support business-wide initiatives
Research and analyse complex issues while contributing to the development and improvement of policies, processes and tools
Drive continuous improvement by identifying trends, risks and opportunities across the portfolio
ABOUT YOU
At least 5 years’ experience in the workers’ compensation industry
Strong technical knowledge of legislation, guidelines and injury management practices
Demonstrated experience in a leadership, 2IC or senior technical role with responsibility for coaching and developing others
Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across different levels of the business
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage with senior leaders and broader teams
