The opportunity
Join our Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) team and contribute to products that shape the reliability and performance of power generation worldwide. In this role, you will lead and support a motivated team of CAD Designers while collaborating closely with experienced engineers, project leads suppliers, and the in Oerlikon located factory across the entire product lifecycle—from early design concepts to continuous improvement initiatives.

How you’ll make an impact
Coach and lead a team of CAD Designers, ensuring high quality creation, modification, and maintenance of engineering data for generator circuit-breaker systems and components (team size approx. 10 FTE)
Develop/enhance/maintain master data of all GCB products with 3D-models, drawings and bill of materials in CAD/PLM systems
Implement special designs, cost-saving projects and drive product quality improvements
Initiate and establish design-process improvements
Ensure efficient collaboration with other engineering functions, project leads and further stakeholders
Contribute to apprentice supervision and training together with the apprentice advisors of the team
Your background
Solid technical foundation as senior designer or equivalent engineering background
Proven experience and confident handling of CAD tools (preferably Creo)
Strong working knowledge of PLM systems (preferably PTC Windchill), roles, object management, and release processes
Experience in a team leading function or as a project manager of a project team
Distinct self-organization skills, as well as precise, independent working style
Ability to structure work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple design topics simultaneously with high quality and reliability
Mindset oriented toward process improvement, document quality, and establishing structured working methods
Fluent in German and English
