Summary:

Has direct supervision of assigned staff and interdisciplinary collaboration. Accountable for providing a professional environment, promoting shared decision-making and professional autonomy. Provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise in area of responsibility and within the organization as a whole. Has 24-hour accountability for assigned teams.
 

Position Responsibilities

Demonstrates leadership to assigned team. Serves as a consultant to the field team in planning, implementing, assessing to meet patient needs, case management, optimum utilization of services and resources.  Develops team and empowers staff to participate in decision making.  Accepts organizational accountability for services provided. 

Evaluates the quality, safety and appropriateness of care utilizing patient outcome data and takes appropriate action depending on results.   Advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. Ensures the coordination of nursing services with other members of the healthcare team. 

Participates in regulatory audits and surveys from fiscal intermediaries and accredited agencies.

Develops team aligning clinical needs with employee skill sets and competence.  Drives recruitment process, selection, retention. Oversees ongoing orientation and staff development.  Receives daily intake of new cases for distribution to field staff.  Manages selection of staff for appropriate staffing, scheduling and assignments.

Develops, monitors and is accountable for financial performance of the department.

Serves as on-call manager, senior back-up staff on a rotating basis, coordinating weekend admissions and visits efficiently and effectively, with follow-up reports to teams and staff appropriately.  Participates in departmental committees, network committees, and outside functions as needed to represent the organization.

Position Qualifications Required:

Required Experience:

3-5 years of home care and supervisory experience preferred

Required Education:

BSN required. Registered Nurse - NJ licensure and CPR certification.

Training / Certification / Licensure:

Excellent organizational and computer skills, demonstrate leadership skills, excellent customer focus skills.

Must have valid Driver's License.

Annual Salary: $95,830 - $157,932 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Virtua’s annual incentive compensation plan (AICP). The amount is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan document.
