About FI Lending
FI Lending (FIL) sits at the heart of Wholesale Banking Lending, working exclusively with the Financial Institutions (FI) Sector organization. As an anchor product, FIL plays a critical role in strengthening ING’s relationships with banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) such as insurers, asset managers and funds.
Our global teams in Amsterdam, Warsaw and Singapore cover the full value chain of lending to financial institutions — from in-depth credit analysis and risk rating, to structuring and executing lending transactions across EMEA, the US and APAC. FIL also manages the complete credit process for Financial Markets (FM), Transaction Services (TS) and Group Treasury (GT).
The role
We are seeking an inspiring Lead of the Banks & Sovereigns (B&S) team within the Amsterdam-based FI Lending unit. This unit consists of two teams — Banks & Sovereigns, and NBFIs — and you will lead a team of 10 professionals dedicated to clients across EMEA and the US.
Beyond strong managerial capabilities, this role requires advanced expertise in credit analysis, structuring and documentation of lending transactions, and a solid understanding of FM and TS products. Strong people leadership and stakeholder partnership skills are essential.
What yu’ll lead
The B&S team drives all credit work related to Banks and Sovereigns — from credit rationales and ratings to the origination and execution of senior unsecured lending transactions. Collaboration is core: you’ll work closely with FI Sector teams, Risk, Legal, FM, TS, and GT.
What yu’ll own
This is a dynamic, visible leadership role at the intersection of client impact, strategic delivery, and operational performance.
