At SumUp, we are driven to empower small businesses across the globe by de-hassling their lives and helping them to succeed. Our vision as a global FinTech company is to build the first-ever global card acceptance brand, and we are well on our way as small businesses in over 33 countries around the world rely on SumUp to get paid. To get there, we are putting together an awesome team that is committed to one another and to our merchants. You could be our missing link! Help us bring card acceptance to the masses!
As the Early Growth Team Leader for the UK Market, you will lead a team of Early Growth Specialists responsible for three commercial motions: activating merchants on their SumUp card reader, upselling additional SumUp products (Business Account, POS Plus, and others), and, depending on merchant size, either converting or qualifying leads for handover to Account Management.
The Early Growth Team operates at the earliest stage of the merchant lifecycle, where merchant value has not yet been confirmed and must be predicted through modelling. This means the team works at high volume, with short and repeatable interactions, and a structural share of outreach will not convert. Your role is to ensure the team executes consistently within that reality: activity levels are maintained, quality is high, escalations to Account Management are timely and commercially credible, and agents are developing and engaged.
This is a first-line leadership role in a team that is still formalising its operating model. The right candidate will be comfortable building structure while running the day-to-day operation simultaneously.
