  • Reading of scientific articles in preparation for the small group sessions.  Leading a discussion on two assigned topics in small group session.
  • Occasional tutoring of International students with language (English) difficulties, either in the office or by email.
  • Invigilating students enrolled in the course during writing of quizzes and exams (helping with language problems and clarifying other difficulties with exams questions).
  • Reading and evaluating assignments and short answer exam questions.
  • Managing of course materials in mycourses.
  • TAs should also reserve their calendars to be available for the teaching days, miniquizzes, small group sessions and exam invigilation.

Qualifications:

  • A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student at the Master’s or Doctoral level, at McGill University, employed to assist a course Supervisor.
  • Graduate student who is fluent on the course topics ideally whose graduate work is based on neuroscience.
  • It is also preferential if the candidate has successfully passed PHAR 562 and PHAR 563.
  • Must have sufficient command of English to be able to help international students.
  • Very good communication skills and attention to detail.

Hourly Rate:

38.34$ (effective August 2026)
