Field Service Engineer II — Thermo Fisher Scientific

About the Role
As a Field Service Engineer II, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced analytical instruments, including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and AA systems. You will support customers in research, industrial, and healthcare environments by delivering high-quality technical service and contributing to improved instrument performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install analytical instruments and provide operational training

  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance

  • Conduct system validation, inspection, and performance checks

  • Prepare detailed service reports and communicate field feedback

  • Support service process improvements and internal knowledge sharing

  • Propose service contracts, paid repairs, and upgrade solutions

  • Collaborate closely with customers, internal teams, and partners

Requirements

  • Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields

  • Experience as a service engineer or analytical instrument user preferred

  • Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to read English technical manuals

  • Ability to travel 50–75% and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability across different products
