Key Responsibilities
GST Compliance & Filing
- Directs, manages resources to implement strategic business plans and Compliance processes
- Responsible for managing India Indirect tax processes with a high focus on operations and efficient planning around high impact areas which need deliberation on a/c of ambiguity in the law or higher tax risks
- Ensuring timely filing of direct & Indirect tax returns in compliance with local legal regulations
- To ensure process deliverables are met with no misses
Advisory & Planning
- Managing/liaisoning with tax firms and counsels on various opinions/advisory matters
- Provide expert advice on GST implications for business transactions.
- Should possess strong Interpretative skills to decipher government policies behind any tax decisions with a reasonable blend of legal provisions
- Provides tax services and advice in assigned areas of technical, business or geographic expertise to
Agilent at the enterprise and entity levels
- Leads or participates in the formulation, coordination and implementation of Agilent’s global tax strategy with the objective of optimizing overall tax objectives
- Stay updated on changes in GST legislation and implement necessary changes.
Audit & Assessment
- Manage GST audits, departmental queries, and assessments from regulatory authorities for regular notices/managing the audits. Should be able to handle/advice on tax litigation with various Authorities at various levels.
- Prepare documentation and respond to notices from tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate records of GST filings, invoices, and related documents.
- Implement internal controls and compliance processes for GST.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure GST compliance in all transactions.
- Participation/support in Project calls/cross functional meetings to analyze/share the impact due to changes in business processes/expansion/divestitures/regulatory on GST Compliance. Educate stakeholders on GST requirements.
Qualifications
- Candidate with bachelor’s or master’s Degree or University Degree in Finance or equivalent
- Strong Indirect tax background and work experience for over 10+ years
- Understanding of the India GST requirements as it relates to the process and financial accounting
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and GST compliance tools.
- Experience of leading/managing teams, execution of processes, projects and strategy
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills - ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross geographic and cross-cultural team – internally and externally
- Negotiation, decision making and issue resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at any given time / Project management skills
- Proactive and self-motivated
