The Tax Manager is responsible for various aspects of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax compliance, reporting, income tax accounting, and research and planning for Topcon America and its affiliated companies. The Tax Manager will support the day to day tax operations and report to the Global Tax Director,

 

This position is expected to work closely with various Finance team members (AR, AP, GL, and Finance Systems to mention a few) and other departments at Topcon.

 

Job Duties:

  • Preparation of  annual and quarterly ASC 740 income tax provision using Onesource Tax Provision software.
  • Preparation and review of US federal and state consolidated/combined and stand-alone income tax returns
  • Preparation and review of sales and use tax.
  • Computation of tax depreciation using FAS.
  • Preparation of quarterly tax payment calculation.
  • Work cross-functionally to coordinate gathering of information necessary for the income tax provision and income tax compliance
  • Assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities in connection to notices and examinations
  • Assist in SOX testing of tax department controls with respect to income tax accounts
  • Assist in researching opportunities, risks, and other ad hoc projects
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax statutes and regulations

 

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience-

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Advance proficiency in tax accounting concepts.
  • 5+ years of tax accounting and compliance experience, preferably in Big 4 and/or technology industry.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-

  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and cross functional groups, results driven with high level of integrity
  • Understanding of tax requirements and exposures
  • Scale and process-oriented with high attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Onesource Tax Provision

Base Pay:

Expected Base Pay Range: $100,000 to $155,000 Annualized

The base pay range included is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed.  Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
