How does this role contribute to our collective success?

The Pricing function supports underwriters and management in building robust and profitable portfolios by providing objective insights through deep product expertise and by utilising state-of-the-art functional capabilities.

The Portfolio Management and Pricing Analytics team sits within the Pricing function and is responsible for enterprise-wide analytics to aid portfolio steering and oversees cross-product initiatives to ensure consistency across the group.

As a Portfolio Management Actuary, you will play a pivotal role in helping shape the organisation’s strategic direction. Your insights and recommendations will guide decisions at the highest levels, ensuring profitable growth and resilience across our global portfolio. This is a highly visible position that interacts with senior leadership and collaborates across multiple teams, making your work central to our collective success.

What will you do in this role?

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, coordinating the Pricing team’s involvement in annual business planning and quarterly reforecasting processes, serving as the central point of alignment among diverse internal stakeholders.
  • Assist enterprise-wide planning and decision making by maintaining robust exhibits and streamlined processes that enable timely, data driven reviews of the latest business plan or reforecast.
  • Support the organisation’s strategic direction by preparing materials for ExCo’s review of loss ratio assumptions and overall portfolio construction, including actionable recommendations to optimise the business plan.
  • Aid decisions at the highest level by producing portfolio review materials for the Group Board’s annual business plan sign-off and conducting quarterly portfolio analyses to guide senior management in steering the business.
  • Deliver high impact portfolio insights that inform senior management’s strategic decision making, ensuring alignment with long term growth objectives.
  • Coordinate pricing and portfolio management initiatives that span all product lines, ensuring consistency and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Provide pricing intelligence by analysing key metrics and delivering insights that enable leadership to navigate the market cycle and maintain portfolio profitability.

About You:

What you need to have:

  • Nearly / Newly attained Associateship or Fellowship of an accredited Actuarial Society, or commensurate experience
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate and establish credibility with all stakeholders
  • Adaptive communication style with the ability to communicate results from actuarial analyses to non-technical audiences at all levels, including senior management
  • Able to coordinate deliverables across multiple teams and consistently meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm to proactively challenge the status quo and develop innovative ideas

  • Ability to use R or Python for data manipulation and statistical analysis
