We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Tax Consultant (Tax Content) to join our tax content development team. The ideal candidate will have 3.5 – 6 years of hands-on experience in US tax compliance and consulting, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations. The position is ideal for professionals who are adept at integrating tax technical knowledge with technology-driven processes to enhance the efficiency and precision of Wolters Kluwer tax products.
Responsibilities and Key Contributions:
- Conduct in-depth analysis, research, and interpretation of federal and state tax rules and regulations, applying them accurately within Wolters Kluwer’s proprietary software.
- Program tax return calculations, e-file pathways, and user interface updates to reflect annual changes mandated by tax authorities.
- Analyse, interpret, and input tax test data scenarios to obtain MeF (Modernized e-Filing) Assurance Testing System approval from federal and state agencies.
- Assist in updating tax law content for Wolters Kluwer clients across various industries.
- Conduct tax research using electronic tools and agency websites, providing technical guidance on complex tax issues.
- Ensure tax content development complies with IRS and state tax authority regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and tax agencies to monitor rule changes, gather reporting information, and maintain compliance.
- Review and approve form print positions and coordinate with the internal teams to secure agency approvals.
- Self-test tax return calculations for accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Maintain assigned tax products during the filing season, incorporating feedback from QA teams and users.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within tax workflows.
- Provide regular project status updates.
- Demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, and a positive attitude in a team-oriented environment.
- Possess experience in tax return e-filing and XML review.
Qualifications:
- Master's/Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3.5 – 6 years of experience in US tax compliance.
- Ideally, candidates should have experience working with multiple tax return types (e.g., 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041, etc.).
- Minimum 2 years of multi tax state experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good to have experience with tax software (e.g., TaxWise, CCH Axcess, etc.).
