Minimum Requirements:
Minimum five years of financial and tax accounting work experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
CA, CPA, CMA, CGA designation required along with in-depth tax course level 1 and 2 completed with level 3 completion preferable
Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and preparing tax provisions in accordance with IAS 12 and IFRS measures
Deep understanding of tax function combined with advanced analytical and financial accounting skills

Responsibilities:
Prepare and file corporate and partnership income tax returns, elections and other necessary filings for Canadian and international jurisdictions
Obtain and validate tax reporting information from business units to support forecasting activities and tax compliance filings
Prepare tax provisions and tax disclosures for external financial statements and partner reporting purposes
Correspond with Federal and Provincial tax authorities as required, including the preparation of responses to audit information requests
Remain up-to-date on changes in tax legislation and IAS 12 that may impact Suncor’s group of entities
Proactively participate in the development and implementation of strategies to advance efficiencies through tax technology and AI
Participate in special projects including researching tax issues and presenting recommendations
Location and other Key details:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
