The Opportunity

Are you a proven Financial Reporting Leader, looking to make significant impact and accelerate your career in a FTSE listed environment?

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll be challenged, supported, and rewarded for your drive and commitment. You’ll play a key role in defining strategy and implementing systems, working closely with the Group Financial Controller and supported by a strong team, to deliver a step-change in the Group’s financial reporting and controls.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Group’s Finance Manual and lead coordination of technical accounting analysis
  • Oversee and own the Group’s consolidation process, supported by the Group Reporting Manager and Group Financial accountant. Including internal monthly management accounts and half year and full year external reporting.
  • Lead a review of the Group’s approach to second line controls, implement refreshed Groupwide key controls and lead the team’s continuous monitoring & improvement, supported by the Group Reporting and controls manager
  • Lead adhoc Financial Reporting projects for the Group
  • Key support and advisor to the Group’s Financial systems strategy review
  • Support the team to deliver key Financial Reporting deliverables – principally the Full Year and Half Year external reporting.
  • Support group budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Group’s refreshed financial consolidation process, supporting the Group’s Financial Reporting Manager
  • Lead, coach and mentor the team to foster engagement and continuous development in the team
  • Drive continuous advancements in financial insight and analysis through clearer, more controlled financial reporting control and governance

What We’re Looking For

  • Motivated professional, inspired to make impact, learn fast and affect positive change.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 8+ years post-qualified experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS), ideally with experience in listed or large corporate environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, consolidations, and financial reporting controls.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems/reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with and lead finance and non-finance stakeholders across the Group.
  • Experience working with COINS ERP in a housebuilding or construction setting is desirable.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
