Job Details:
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates must be willing to work in temperatures ranging from 20°F to 100°F+, and must be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 70 lbs. Additionally, candidates must be willing to use hands and arms above shoulder level and stand for 8-10 hours per day.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of in-shop experience and be able to keep the work area clean while prioritizing safety. Proficiency in using hand and power tools is required. Candidates must be skilled in stick welding various metals, including understanding different metal composites and using appropriate welding rods. The ability to set welding machines for different amperages is essential.
Candidates must also be proficient in TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding, using different types of fill rods, and understanding temperature settings on the welding machine. Proficiency in MIG (metal inert gas) welding, commonly known as “wire welding,” is required. Candidates should be able to set up welding machines for different wire and feed speeds from the wire feed box. The ability to hard surface areas with a powder flame mixture is also necessary.
Candidates must be able to understand sketches, drawings, and blueprints to build frameworks or structures of various types, and be able to grind work after welding. Steel toe boots are required for this position.
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson must observe a 180-day rehire waiting period and are subject to a 3-time rehire limit.
Requirements:
6 months experience in mechanic work in the work history section of application or be graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.(qualifying candidates must take a tour before accepting job offer)
