Schedule:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Hours:  Schedule to be determined to be either 10-hour shift from 6pm to 4am or 7pm – 5pm. Typically, this position will average 40 hours a week. The work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Summary:

  • This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing hatchery infrastructure. Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: Demonstrated previous experience in a lead/supervisory role and/or a minimum of 6 months in related field.
  • Candidates must reside within the current recruitment area to include the following counties:  Hall, White, Habersham, Banks, & Lumpkin
  • Candidates with agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setter and Hatchery PM and calibration: Perform all items on the Manufacturer’s recommended preventative maintenance program. (40%)
  • Electrical: Change motors in incubators and hatchers, change wall receptacles, replace ends on cords, change light fixtures, wire single and three phase motors, read and understand a voltmeter and ammeter. (20%)
  • HVAC Units and Evap Coolers: Basic Knowledge to repair and troubleshoot. (10%)
  • I/O Board Troubleshooting/repair on equipment: Manufacturer’s control system. (10%)
  • Repair/replace equipment associated with offal: Macerator, Pump, and Motor. (10%)
  • Chiller knowledge: Temperature set point and current, Pressure setpoint and current, and identify /fix issues if the temperature or pressure is not correct. (5%)
  • Troubleshoot highspeed, dock, and Chase Durris doors. (5%)
  • This position may require the TM to be on-call at least one weekend a month.
  • Meet all certification requirements for wearing a full-face respirator (PFT and RFT). Respirator certification is required and maintained by testing on an annual basis. Must be willing to achieve and maintain a respirator certification.

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:

  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. The Company provides appropriate clothing and footwear. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Physical:  Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and must be able to push/pull 500 lbs. (on wheels). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Tools and Equipment: Power tools
  • Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required when handling chemicals. Ear plugs will be used as needed.
  • Chemicals Commonly Used: Formaldehyde is in use at the facility, disinfectant, lubricants and Virocid.
  • Safety: Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
