The Role: Talent Specialist
Availability: Full-time with an ability to work mornings, evenings, overnight support as needed and occasional weekends
The People and Culture Talent Acquisition team for Manufacturing and Distribution is looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join us as Talent Specialists (TSs). This role will work with the Manufacturing and Distribution management teams to identify, recruit, and support the hiring of seasonal staff. For the duration of your contract, you will report to the Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM) in Toronto and be supported by your Talent Acquisition Partner (TAP) and Talent Placement Specialist (TPS).
Working alongside the talent team leadership, the Talent Specialist will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in full-cycle recruitment for Seasonal Production Assistants and Seasonal Distribution Associates across all departments in Manu/Distro. You will support creating an outstanding candidate and employee experience where everyone enjoys a safe and fun place to work, while providing direct client support to the hiring managers.

As Talent Specialists, your RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
- Participating in the Talent Specialist training program as required
- Recruiting and re-calling seasonal talent for the manufacturing and distribution business units
- Partnering with talent team leadership and department managers on keeping up with hiring needs and filling vacancies in a timely manner to accommodate production demands
- Regularly communicating with and reaching out to applicants in a timely manner by both phone and email
- Using applicant tracking software (Greenhouse) to review and follow-up on incoming applications in a timely manner, accurately updating trackers accordingly
- Scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing events such as hiring fairs/department tours as needed, and acting as a brand ambassador for all attendees
- Coordinating and conducting a high volume of interviews, both virtually and in person as needed
- Participating in all interviews and meetings as required
- Demonstrating understanding of employment standards, payroll processes, visas/work permits, and new hire paperwork
- Attending onboardings to verify attendance, follow up on no-shows, and verify proper safety-shoes for new employees
- Updating hiring trackers to support accurate reporting
- Managing sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion
- Having a strong line of communication with talent team management and promptly escalating situations/urgent matters when needed without delay
- Assisting in supporting various hiring activities throughout the contract as needed (i.e. review applications, conduct interviews, candidate follow-up calls/emails, organize and facilitate in-room onboarding, badge creation and offboarding)
- Supporting the team, stakeholders, and management with ad-hoc requests, including additional onboardings, phone calls, etc.
- Adapting to new systems, processes, and tools as required
- Promoting communication and cooperation within the team
- Expectation to complete additional interviews (both in-person and virtual) outside of scheduled event and meeting times
- Supporting the employee badge process (Badge creating, printing, documenting, and distributing) with use of GX
- Creating, sending, and reviewing a high volume of job offers via Greenhouse
- Expectation to focus on the sending and completion of paperwork outside of scheduled event and meeting times
- Sending departments confirmation of expected incoming staff prior to onboarding
- Supporting with gathering hiring metrics and feedback survey results post-season
- Connecting with hiring managers post-season to establish returning talent pipeline for future season
You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Current Lush employee
- Has successfully held current role for a minimum of 1 year
- Proficient with computer software such as Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Chat, Meet, Google Calendars, Gmail) and MS Office (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Able to provide as well as receive in-the-moment feedback
- Confident with mathematics including ability to count, addition, and subtraction
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English
- Open to working flexible hours as needed, which can include early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends, to ensure support for all shifts' hiring needs
- Available to work on-site at any of our Etobicoke manufacturing and distribution facilities (Jutland, East Mall, Evans)
- Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Engaged in our core values, ethics and able to demonstrate attributes of a brand ambassador
- Displaying excellent decision-making skills while demonstrating impartiality
- Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual, and dependable
Preferred:
- Previous experience working as a member of the Talent Team at Lush
- Previous experience in a recruitment/HR/office administrative role
- Experience working with an Applicant Tracking Software (i.e. Greenhouse)
- Experience conducting interviews
- Experience with event organization, coordination, and/or scheduling
- Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
- Fluent in multiple languages (verbally and/or written)
- Experience with providing a high level of customer/client service
- Experience in people support and/or networking
- Familiar with various manufacturing and distribution departments at Lush
Hiring Process for this position:
- 1st Stage: Panel interview with members of the Talent Team
- 2nd Stage: Written assessment completed on-site in Etobicoke
