Job Summary: The Talent Acquisition Programs Lead is responsible for the design and implementation of all talent acquisition programs intended to build early career and experienced pipelines and support staffing in our Stores, Corporate and the Wawa Beverage Center.. This position works closely with TA Delivery, Recruitment Marketing, TA Operations, and various business functions while additionally establishing strong partnerships with external organizations to amplify reach and accelerate results.
Principal Duties:
- Develop and optimize multiple scalable talent acquisition programs and experiences to build strong talent pipelines aligned with business goals and workforce planning by leveraging internal and external partnerships, creating project plans, timelines, documentation and updates to ensure successful execution.
- Responsible for delivering on our campus recruiting strategy, developing and maintaining strategic relationships with colleges, universities, and student organizations. Works with store operations and corporate to enable presence at college career days, hiring events and conferences to increase the awareness of our current and future opportunities as well as our overall employment brand.
- Orchestrate the framework to enable store operations and recruiters the ability to effectively execute and participate in hiring events, campus career fairs, and supported employment initiatives, while partnering with local community groups and organizations as needed. Develop and execute early career internal apprenticeship program aimed at creating a path from stores to corporate while enhancing our current talent pipeline and supporting our workforce planning strategy.
- Design and lead the company’s annual internship program, managing the intern request process, onboarding, engagement activities, and post-program evaluation to deliver a high-impact experience that supports our early career strategy and future workforce planning.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and serves as the primary liaison with external partners including chambers of commerce, workforce development boards, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Develop new partnerships as necessary to support Wawa’s efforts in building stronger, proactive pipelines and enhancing talent representation
- Lead our Supported Employment program, working with community agencies to enable program participants to work successfully in our stores.
- Partner with Recruitment Marketing and our internal marketing department on campaign strategies to drive awareness of TA programs and initiatives while ensuring connectivity to our employment brand and AVP.
- Regularly analyze recruitment data (pipeline health, conversion rates, program(s) ROI) and presents insights to leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions, influencing and aligning stakeholders at all levels
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple large-scale programs simultaneously from design through execution.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain external partnerships (universities, community organizations, vendors) that strengthen talent pipelines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to implement creative and effective recruitment strategies

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred or five (5) years related experience
- 2+ years of experience executing campus/university recruiting strategies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Prior experience working with community organizations, educational institutions, or chambers of commerce is a plus.
