The Opportunity

This position will be responsible for developing and delivering end‑to‑end Talent Acquisition solutions, supporting primarily but not limited to New Zealand affiliates.

This role operates as a senior individual contributor and trusted Talent Advisor to the business, delivering high‑quality recruitment outcomes while influencing best practices and Talent Acquisition capability in the New Zealand market.

What You'll Do

Strategic Talent Acquisition Partnership

  • Deliver services within Abbott’s model, technology, and processes, acting as the main point of contact for internal clients at the senior manager level up to Director level.
  • Build strong understanding of business priorities, workforce plans, and talent challenges, translating these into actionable recruitment strategies.
  • Gain credibility with hiring managers and stakeholders through consistent delivery, labour market expertise, and deep understanding of Abbott’s business dynamics.
  • Leverage market insights and recruitment data to provide consultative advice, influence decision making, and support strong hiring outcomes.

End to End Recruitment Delivery

  • Independently manage full cycle recruiting, from requirement definition through offer negotiation to hire.
  • Lead multiple recruitment cycles simultaneously, delivering results against tight deadlines and managing demanding client groups.
  • Execute recruitment activity with high quality hiring standards, balancing high volume hiring with lower volume, complex commercial or specialist roles.
  • Meet hiring efficiency and diversity goals while ensuring alignment with Abbott’s TA governance and standards.

Sourcing & Talent Attraction

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that leverage cost effective recruiting channels, including the Abbott careers page, job boards, social media, ATS and CRM talent pools, referral programs, virtual job fairs, and dedicated talent pipelines.
  • Understand and apply advanced direct sourcing techniques and methodologies to proactively engage and nurture passive talent.
  • Deliver diverse slates of qualified candidates aligned to business, quality, objectives.
  • Manage contingency search partners for difficult to fill roles as required, with leadership approval.

Candidate & Hiring Manager Experience

  • Provide high level candidate support to attract, engage, influence, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Actively listen, assess motivation and fit, and positively influence candidate decision making.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with hiring managers, setting expectations and providing progress updates to ensure a strong partnership experience.

Operational Excellence

  • Use ATS, CRM, and internal reporting tools to monitor recruitment performance, identify trends, and present insights using the MS Office suite.
  • Act as a local champion for process improvement, system adoption, and best practice recruitment methodologies.
  • Influence and uplift Talent Acquisition capability in the New Zealand market by sharing market intelligence, sourcing approaches, and lessons learned.
  • Lead or contribute to in-country, divisional, regional, or global Talent Acquisition projects as required, including support for local and regional partner relationship manager initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6–10+ years of Talent Acquisition experience, gained in‑house, agency, or a combination.
  • Proven end‑to‑end recruitment experience, ideally across manufacturing/operations and/or commercial functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both high‑volume hiring and complex, specialist roles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • High degree of autonomy, resilience, and capability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working with ATS and CRM systems; strong reporting and presentation skills (MS Excel / PowerPoint).

Preferred

  • Experienced in supporting manufacturing or site‑based environments (e.g. plants, operations, technical roles).
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand labour market and hiring practices.
  • Experience working within a regional or global TA operating model.
  • Exposure to TA transformation, process improvement, or capability‑building initiatives.
