This work experience will embed you in the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) Talent Acquisition team for the Summer and Fall 2026 work terms (May-December).

The Talent Acquisition Co-op/Intern will work within our Human Resources department. This is a great opportunity for you to learn by working alongside our recruiters and campus team.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Human Resources department provides HR leadership across BCI, in direct support of investment return objectives and delivering on BCI’s strategic ambitions of Driving Sustainable Growth, Accelerating Innovation and Operating on a Global Scale. The HR department adds value as a strategic business partner, an enabler of change when mandates shift, and serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO/CIO, executive, and the board on all people matters.
HR supports every person at BCI and serves as a partner to all departments on strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR matters. By focusing on our talent, we ensure the organization has the right people with the right skills supporting and delivering on investment strategies for the benefit of our clients.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Working under the supervision of both a Senior Recruiter and the Manager, Campus Program, you will assist with various projects and day-to-day work.
Recruitment team:
Join recruiters at kick off calls and learn about a wide variety of roles within BCI
Support recruiters in areas such as drafting job ads, drafting LinkedIn posts, scheduling case study assignments/testing, scheduling interviews and travel
Support HR Technician team in HR System (Workday) entries such as job ads and offers.
Using Excel and AI to analyse recruitment trends and produce reports
Provide support for ad hoc projects and tasks related to our Talent Acquisition Strategy, such as outreach to diverse talent, process mapping and modernization practices
Campus Program
Support organization and delivery of in-house sessions and events (e.g.: orientation, CEO meet & greet, roundtables, wrap up, supervisor training)
Support intake and interview scheduling for BCI’s Indigenous Empowerment Award Scholarship
Provide support in Workday entries – such as job ads and offers
Using Excel and AI to analyze student data & survey; seeking treads and making recommendations for program improvements or changes
Support delivery of online information sessions – technical support, responding to chat questions
Provide support for ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team – global student talent for our London & NY locations, outreach to diverse talent, process mapping & streamlining
REQUIRED SKILLS
A genuine interest in a Human Resources career
Commitment to maintaining confidential information
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and excellent product quality
Strong research skills combined with analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience in using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and SharePoint would be an asset
Experience in using AI systems such as CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar, would ben an asset
Familiarity with HR systems would be an asset
Previous work term experience in an organization or role requiring confidentiality would be an asset (i.e.: human resources, payroll, bank, health care)

Competitive pay: $2,330.00 gross bi-weekly or $2,155.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary ($2,330.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) a graduate degree and $2,155.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate)
Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location

All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home. Please note, some positions are not eligible for hybrid work.
