In this Role

As a Systems & Network Ops Specialist, you will support a high-performance test and data operations environment, managing core systems infrastructure and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of critical network and server resources. This role offers hands-on exposure to cutting-edge AI infrastructure, modern server hardware, and large-scale deployments. You’ll handle day-to-day system health checks, perform network configurations, manage server imaging and updates, and contribute to documentation and process improvement. The position is ideal for early-career IT professionals seeking to grow in systems administration, networking, and infrastructure operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily checks on network and server health, reviewing system alerts, tickets, and overnight logs.
  • Configure and maintain network components including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Manage IP addressing, VLAN assignments, and DHCP/DNS configurations.
  • Image new servers using MDT, WDS, or PXE deployment tools.
  • Apply OS patches, updates, and baseline configurations across Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Join servers to domains, verify access permissions, and validate connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot imaging, network, or configuration issues in coordination with team members.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records.
  • Back up configuration files and verify successful restorations.
  • Collaborate with peers and vendors to support deployments and system maintenance activities.
  • Prepare plans, notes, and documentation for upcoming installations or maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in IT systems administration or network support (ideal for early-career professionals).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic administration of Windows Server and/or Linux environments (minimum 1 year).
    • Understanding of networking fundamentals — IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP (minimum 1 year).
    • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration abilities (minimum 1 year).
  • Education/Certifications: No degree required. Equivalent hands-on experience accepted.
  • Work Requirements: Must be able to work onsite in Redmond, WA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, Azure Fundamentals).
  • Experience:
    • Familiarity with server imaging tools (MDT, WDS, PXE).
    • Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Prior military or technical field experience.
  • Soft Skills: Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Salary Range

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $23.08 to $27.88 USD/per hour The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
