The Opportunity:
CACI's Mastodon Design is looking to hire a Systems Engineering Intern in Rochester, NY for Summer 2026! The internship is scheduled to start in May, will last approximately 12 weeks, and you must be available to work 100% on-site.

This organization specializes in designing and building hardware and software to meet our customers’ next requirement. We focus on offering devices that can be fielded immediately to meet the mission needs that lie directly ahead. Size, weight, power, and packaging are of paramount importance in everything we design and build.

Our expertise allows us to rapidly provide these solutions in specialized electronic/mechanical design, embedded & application-level software, reverse engineering & protocol analysis, and RF signals exploitation and communications systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop test plans and procedures
  • Conduct tests and document results
  • Provide technical support for application notes
  • Conduct vehicle site surveys and associated vehicle integration designs for Mastodon equipment
  • Procure and validate 3rd party OEM products
  • Develop and write software install procedures for laptops, including Mastodon and 3rd party software
  • Create and update laptop clones
  • Coordinate document reviews



Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Ability to learn how to use new software tools
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Experience installing software on Windows and Linux machines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, & Visio




Desired:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, but not required 
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$39,900-$79,900
