Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing GCCS-J development team.
This position 100% onsite Newport News, VA,
The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (US citizenship is required).
GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record. GCCS-J supports commanders and warfighters as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of the battlespace within an integrated system that is supporting Joint Warfighter needs today. GCCS-J is focused on meeting emerging operational needs through sustainment and modernization.
Along with sustainment and modernization, GCCS-J will focus on modifying and enhancing elements and capabilities to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage data ingestion processes
Develop and maintain data synchronization solutions
Conduct data analysis and derive insights to support strategic objectives.
Write detailed requirements documents, including acceptance criteria to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
Utilize logical and physical data models to inform system design and database architecture.
Perform data quality assessments and implement measures to enhance data integrity.
Monitor data processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support the software development process from initial needs elicitation to delivery and fielding.
Establish and maintain a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements.
Deliver presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.
Interface with geographically dispersed development teams to ensure compliance with emerging standards and requirements.
Lead independent technical investigations and provide recommendations for technical solutions.
Follow Agile Development processes and full life cycle development: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 2 years experience
2+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with data analytics and management tools.
Familiarity with data ingestion techniques and synchronization methodologies.
Strong understanding of both logical and physical data models.
Experience in writing technical documentation, including requirements and acceptance criteria.
Proficiency in SQL and data query languages.
Obtain a interim Secret clearance prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
4+ years of experience in a systems engineering role focused on data-centric solutions.
Experience with cloud data platforms and big data technologies.
Strong experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and modeling tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and practices.
Understanding of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) models.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Understanding of system lifecycle, analysis, development, and management.
Familiarity with cross-platform management (Windows and Unix/Linux data exchange).
Experience with virtual machine environments and tools.
Solaris/Linux and Windows System Administration skills.
Attention to detail coupled with the ability to learn new procedures with minimal supervision.
Top Secret / SCI clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
