Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to support the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) program, with focus in the Electrical Power Systems
This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level interceptor requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities.
Creates new system requirements and manages requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases working effectively with IPT leaders and team members.
The candidate should possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills.
Creates and manages both original and revised specification/interface definition documents and coordinates document approval through peer review and signature process.
Support risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes.
Manages aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, minor failure/anomaly resolution or mission operations.
Participates in the creation of and manages changes to system or subsystem analytical models.
Candidate should be knowledgeable about agile principles and have demonstrated the ability to facilitate an agile development process
Interface with IPT engineering staff as required.
Candidate will facilitate the development and execution of technical reviews for the program
This position may be offered at the Principal Level 3 or Sr. Principal Level 4.
Salary range Level 3: Min $98,400.00 - Max $147,600.00
Salary range Level 4: Min $122,800.00 - Max $184,200.00
Basic Qualifications Level 3
Requires BS in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years related experience, Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience or PhD with 1 year of experience.
Basic Qualifications Level 4
Requires BS in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years related experience, Masters Degree with 6 years of related experience or PhD with 4 year of experience.
Experience developing power distribution architectures for Low and High Voltage Systems
Understands Electrical Power at the System Level with the capability to drive architectural decisions
Experience coordinating with Electrical Engineering Teams to determine System Level Requirements
Performs Analysis of electrical power systems to determine adequacy in meeting requirements
Experience with requirements decomposition and allocation
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher.
Willingness to work fast paced development programs
Ability to travel is required
Experience leading within and IPT organization as a lead or a SME

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
