We are seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our Patriot Software Team in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Patriot is the world's preeminent air defense system, and we are currently developing software to support new system capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with software developers, system architects, and product leads to ensure the solutions we deliver meet our customers’ requirements. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly impact the success of our products worldwide. This position operates in a SCIF environment and offers an optional 9/80 schedule to support work-life balance.

What You Will Do

  • Concept and requirements development, including decomposition and flow-down

  • Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development and design

  • Trade studies to bring new, advanced features to fielded system

  • Functional analysis of real world and test data

  • Collaboration with customers to bring new capabilities to the warfighter

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features, ensuring system integration and scalability.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.

  • Light travel and off-hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) may occasionally be required.

  • This position requires exclusive onsite presence.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience in requirements development

  • Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management software.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active Secret security clearance.

  • Knowledge of radar systems (e.g., Patriot System) and/or experience with data analysis.

  • Experience developing technical solutions to complex issues or working with embedded, real-time, or large-scale applications.

  • Skilled in cross-functional team collaboration and customer communication.

  • Familiar with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
