The Opportunity

This position works out of our St. Paul. MN location in the Electrophysiology division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

We are seeking a motivated and curious Systems Engineer to join our Systems Verification team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in motion control and robotics while developing your engineering skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in testing, data analysis, and system validation.

What You’ll Work On

  • Execute system-level tests and analyze results to support product development.
  • Assist in developing and validating test methods for motion control and robotic systems.
  • Contribute to fixture design using ECAD/MCAD tools.
  • Support cross-functional engineering efforts (EE/HW/SW).
  • Write scripts and tools using LabVIEW and Python to automate testing and data collection.
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings clearly and accurately.
  • Additional Responsibility:
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on test planning and execution.
  • Participate in design and requirements reviews.
  • Learn and apply FDA regulatory and ISO standard procedures.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives and technical reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Biomedical) or related field
  • 0-2 years Engineering experience
  • Basic understanding of system testing and development lifecycle.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience performing design verification testing
  • Exposure to medical device development or regulated environments is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with programming (LabVIEW, Python) and design tools (Altium, SolidWorks) is a plus.

The base pay for this position is

$50,700.00 – $101,300.00
