Job Summary:

The Systems Engineering Specialist is responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software as it relates to the firm’s infrastructure. Responsibilities include the design and deployment of new solutions that are necessary to meet the firm’s technology goals. The key area of focus will be in supporting the firm’s virtualization infrastructure, including deployment of new systems, configuration/tuning of existing systems, and continued maintenance of systems within the global infrastructure. Other responsibilities will include on premise Active Directory, AWS and Microsoft Azure Management & administration and working with the network and security teams to provide a secure and efficient infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and define requirements, design, develop, install, configure, test, and implement information systems technology solutions to a global enterprise environment.
  • Provide support and maintenance of the firm’s global server platform including but not limited to pro-active system monitoring and Operating System (OS) patching using tools such as Logic Monitor, SCCM and Ansible.
  • Management and support of the Active Directory environment (on prem and Azure AD)
  • Management and support of the Windows server environment, including Server 2022 & 2025.
  • Management and support of the RedHat Linux environment, including RHEL 8 and above.
  • Ensure systems achieve 99.99% up time in a 24/7/365 environment.
  • Analyze, plan, test and document implementations of new hardware and software systems.
  • Manage and create application packages and ensure delivery to all server infrastructure.
  • Act as a resource to support all technical projects assigned by management or project management.
  • Create documentation on system designs, procedures, and processes.
  • Use tools like PowerShell, VB Script, batch files to configure a computer environment.
  • Engineer and maintain the firms Virtualization platform. This includes configuring and deploying VMware (v7+ ) across global datacenters, local offices and cloud platforms, ensuring a unified environment.
  • Ability to support storage and storage area network technologies
  • Support WINS/DNS/DHCP including Infoblox.
  • Support and implement DFS & File shares.
  • Manage and maintain the firm’s backup infrastructure using Veeam.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document post system outages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5-7 years) in system administration and deployment in a technical field, including hands-on experience in an enterprise level environment
  • Systems Engineer with level (5 plus years) experience with identifying and defining requirements, designing, developing, installing, configuring, testing, and implementing information technology solutions to large-scale global environments
  • Utilization of change management/change control processes and procedures.
  • Proven experience in documenting system requirements, design, implementation, and operational documentation deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Windows Clustering technologies such as “Always-On”
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions such as NetApp, Pure and other SAN technology
  • Familiarity with enterprise compute systems such as Cisco UCS.
  • Independent, self-starting, innovative and deadline-driven mindset.
  • Experienced implementing large scale enterprise information technology projects and solutions.

Additional Details:

  • This person will occasionally travel to other Fragomen offices as required. All travel and expenses will be reimbursed by the business.
