As a System Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our digital infrastructure. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll be the go-to person for troubleshooting, system upgrades, and user support.
Please note: This role is a 6-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working options. You will be required to come into our office based in Brisbane CBD.
Your part in our UnitingCare team
Monitoring, managing, and maintaining the health and availability of our Azure integration platform, including servers, databases, and processes.
Implement and oversee security protocols, access controls, and authentication mechanisms to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
Identify and resolve technical issues, investigate incidents, and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Regularly assess system performance, conduct diagnostics, and implement optimizations to ensure efficient operation and response times.
Plan and execute platform upgrades, updates, and patches to ensure systems are running on the latest versions with optimal features and security.
Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss and ensure business continuity.
Provide technical support to UCQ customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and technical challenges related to the integration platforms.
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business requirements and strategic goals.
Take ownership of GitHub repo and existing Dev/Ops strategy on integration platforms.
Identify opportunities for automation to streamline routine tasks, reduce manual intervention, and improve operational efficiency
What makes a difference for us?
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an Azure Platform Administrator, Systems Engineer, or similar role.
Proficiency in supporting the Azure integration (AIS) platform on varying operating systems (Windows, Linux)
Proficiency in managing integration processes on cloud services and familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL).
Understanding of Dev/Ops principles, underlying infrastructure needs and maintenance.
Understanding of BICEP or ARM templates.
Strong understanding of security practices and protocols, including access controls and data encryption.
Strong understanding of networking concepts and firewalls within Windows and Linux environments.
Strong change and release management experience.
Familiarity with monitoring and performance optimization tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams and providing user support.
