Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an experienced System & Integration Manager to lead rail systems integration for a major freight rail infrastructure program.
Develop and manage the overall systems integration strategy for the rail program.
Lead coordination across signaling, telecoms, traction power, SCADA, control systems, rolling stock, and civil/trackwork disciplines to ensure a unified, fully compatible system architecture.
Oversee interface management activities, ensuring timely resolution of technical conflicts between contractors, designers, and system suppliers.
Review and approve system integration plans, interface control documents (ICDs), systems assurance documentation, and integration test procedures.
Ensure compliance with rail systems standards, safety requirements, operational criteria, and performance specifications, with consideration for freight rail operations and interfaces.
Coordinate system-wide testing and commissioning, dynamic testing, and end-to-end validation.
Monitor progress of systems engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with program schedules and milestones.
Lead system integration workshops, technical meetings, hazard analyses, and configuration management reviews.
Identify, assess, and mitigate integration risks across all engineering, construction, and operational interfaces.
Prepare integration reports, dashboards, and updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Systems, Rail Engineering, or related discipline).
Minimum 10 years of experience in rail systems engineering and integration, including freight rail systems.
Experience as a System & Integration Manager (or equivalent role) on at least one major rail project of similar size and complexity.
Proven experience with multiple rail systems (signaling, telecoms, traction power, control systems, rolling stock) and system interfaces, assurance, testing, and commissioning.
Strong expertise in rail systems engineering, multidisciplinary systems integration, and interface management.
Deep understanding of interface control documentation (ICDs), system assurance principles, and testing & commissioning practices.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills for managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
