Check out this great opportunity to join one of GDIT’s fastest long-standing growing programs!  US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.  We are seeking a Systems Administrator that can work independently – please read below!

Candidate will join a dedicated team of Systems professionals that operate and maintain US BICES Systems environment. Team responsible a wide variety of technologies and manufacturer hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer VMware virtual environments to include ESXi hosts, vCenter appliances, VxRail HCIs, and VSANs.
  • Develop scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) to perform recurring systems administration tasks, automate installs, gather metrics, etc.
  • Download, stage and deploy systems-related security policies and updates to maintain information system compliance with DISA security policies and procedures (STIGs, IAVAs, etc.)
  • Administer Microsoft software platforms with an emphasis in the following areas:
    • Windows Server 2016,2019
    • Microsoft Exchange 2016
    • Windows SharePoint 2016, 2019
    • Microsoft SQL 2016, 2019
  • Creates and maintains detailed system documentation.
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice and training to end-users.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
  • This position may require early evening system maintenance and occasional on-call after hours.
  • Deliver desktop support and troubleshoot issues for Windows-based desktops and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
  • Monitor tickets and resolve them in a timely manner. Knowledge of ServiceNow a plus.
  • Answering emails, phone calls and replying to management and high-rank customers.
  • Applying analytical skills in all aspects of the job.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to qualify for TESA, the candidate must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of specialized experience, OR; an Associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; 11 years of specialized experience
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience required.
  • Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+ or equivalent) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire
  • Experience in Configuration and deployment of Storage solutions and operational maintenance of associated equipment (NetApp/Dell).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic technical input.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to analyze, research, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to forecast and be proactive versus being reactive.
  • Understanding of system server administration concepts (DHCP, DNS, DC, Active Directory, and Group Policy)
  • Additional specific certifications may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VMWare VCP-DCV
  • Microsoft MCSA, MCSE, MCITP-EA

The likely salary range for this position is $69,264 - $90,850. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
