Broadcom’s ASIC Products Division (APD) is seeking a candidate for a System Level Test, Diagnosis and Si Validation Engineer position at our Fort Collins Development Center in Colorado. This position will be part of the DFT team supporting our key customers with system level test development, deployment in production and ensuring robustness of test solutions. The candidate will also support enablement of DFT solutions in the HTOL & other qualification systems. The candidate will have hands-on experience of supporting Si validation and System level test development and debug experience. The successful candidate will be able to help our customers perform diagnostics to help isolate the failures on the die to allow the DFT team to explore ways to address the test escapes using ATE tests.
Responsibilities:
Define a plan to gather diagnostics data from the customer during their system failure debug process to enable DFT team to identify test escapes
Develop thorough understanding of APD IP test and characterization approaches
Develop understanding of customer’s application, system and platform requirements to be able to lead and drive the necessary information gathering in the event of system issues caused by ASIC
Ability to drive discovery conversations with the customer utilizing deep technical expertise in the areas of Si validation, System level test and diagnosis work experience in the industry from previous roles
Define, develop test boards in collaboration with customer to enable efficient System Level Testing (SLT)
Ability to work independently in a team where you have unique skills.
Must be able to manage projects and tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Collaborate with various teams within Broadcom to help address systemic issues showing up in multiple products
Be able to debug test failures due to SI issues with high speed SerDes serial interfaces
Be able to debug test issues with HBM and other high speed memory interfaces
Skills/Experience:
System-level validation, characterization and debug
System-to-ATE correlation
Knowledge of boot code, modes, system state transitions during boot up (particularly for HBM based SIPs) - very desirable
SLT and Eval board/system (socketed functional board)
System-level fault tolerance/redundancy
Familiarity with scan design, IJTAG, JTAG 1149.1, TDF/stuck-at testing, Memory BIST, IP testing
Experience with I2C, MDIO, PCIE, in-system buses like APB, AXI etc.
Familiarity with ATE wafer and final test
Debug skills using oscilloscopes, signal analyzers and other lab debugging tools.
Programming experience, familiarity with data analysis languages and tools
Be familiar with high speed SerDes interfaces and understand how SI issues can affect the BER
Be familiar and able to read and understand C code which is used for testing IP
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience

The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $172,800.
