Job Title: SVP, Finance & Ops Technology – Shared Services

Job Description:

Blackstone is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of a Senior Vice President (SVP), responsible for integration of all systems used within Finance and Ops technology. This individual will spearhead the design, development, implementation, of common platforms required to run all services in this CTO tower. The leader will liaise with key stakeholders to enable observability, define SLOs/SLAs and establish SRE best practices. This strategic role focuses on leveraging technology to optimize workflows while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of next-generation finance and operations engineering technologies to support firm’s accounting, middle-office, and finance operations.

  • Oversee end-to-end engineering and technology strategies for firm’s operations, with an emphasis on integrating accounting and operations systems into a cohesive data warehousing, analytics, and reporting framework.

  • Drive the team’s adoption of robust solutions for metrics, observability and SDLC one-pipeline.

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and warehouse ecosystems to support financial analysis and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the firm, including portfolio operations, risk, finance, and data governance, to ensure systems and tools align with business needs.

  • Build reporting infrastructure to ensure accurate financial and operational metrics are propagated to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Define and implement best practices for operational systems performance, reusability, consistency, and data accuracy.

  • Own and manage existing and legacy operational systems to be modernized, and field a team and practice responsive to daily trading, compliance and finance needs.

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical domain.

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering or technology operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.

  • 5-10 years of experience working on accounting and finance operations technology, ideally for Credit and Insurance investment firms.

  • Deep expertise in data curation methodologies, data integration, and designing cohesive analytics platforms from operational and accounting systems.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, including experience managing teams, making hiring decisions, and fostering a collaborative work culture.

  • Experience with cloud-based systems like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Sigma.

  • Familiarity with big data techniques and advanced database architecture design.
