The opportunity:
The Sustainability Finance – Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating Sustainability Finance delivery within the Controlling Capability Center (CCC) setup. The role ensures the high-quality, compliant, and decision-relevant integration of ESG and sustainability metrics into financial reporting, planning, and business decision-making. This position sits at the intersection of Sustainability / ESG reporting, digital transformation, and Finance & Controlling. It combines functional leadership, hands-on contribution, project coordination, and stakeholder management, acting as a key interface between Sustainability, Finance & Controlling, SAP CoE / IT, external vendors, and the business. The role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven transparency for sustainability-related regulatory compliance and strategic initiatives, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SSBJ, green financing, green ledger development, and carbon foot printing.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Lead and coordinate Sustainability Finance activities within the CCC set-up.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality, and compliant delivery of sustainability-related finance processes and outputs.
- Drive the integration of ESG and sustainability metrics into core Finance & Controlling processes and decision-making.
- Design, implement, and optimize SAP-based solutions that integrate sustainability metrics into Hitachi Energy’s financial systems.
- Drive the implementation and enhancement of relevant SAP capabilities to enable Finance & Controlling data integration for ESG compliance and reporting.
- Ensure effective integration across finance-relevant SAP modules, especially SAP FICO, SD, and PP.
- Enable automated and digitalized data integration for sustainability compliance and reporting requirements.
- Drive the collection, validation, and workflow automation of data needed for CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SSBJ, and other global regulatory frameworks.
- Support transparent, auditable, and decision-useful reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze, design, and improve end-to-end Sustainability Finance processes.
- Identify opportunities for standardization, automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement.
- Assess risks, dependencies, and process interlinkages to strengthen efficiency and compliance.
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance & Controlling, Sustainability, SAP CoE / IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and act as a PMO / project lead for Sustainability Finance system and process initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects with global stakeholders and ensure clear governance, prioritization, and progress tracking.
- Support the design, documentation, and monitoring of relevant internal controls, policies, and key risks related to Sustainability Finance processes.
- Help establish a standard internal control and audit assessment mechanism for sustainability-related financial processes and reporting.
- Ensure solutions and processes meet governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
- Should have Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in SAP, Finance & Controlling, project management, or sustainability-related finance transformation.
- Additional certifications in SAP and/or Project Management are preferred.
- Strong practical experience with SAP FICO, SD, and PP modules.
- Strong understanding of SAP architecture and its integration with financial systems, Procure-to-Pay, and Sales & Distribution processes.
- Strong systems and technology mindset with the ability to drive adoption, optimization, and digital transformation in operations.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess risks, dependencies, and interdependencies.
- Solid project management capabilities, with experience managing multiple initiatives involving global stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly across different organizational levels and forums.
- Strong written communication skills.
