Your part in UnitingCare
The Surgery Connect Administration Support Officer’s purpose is to provide administrative support to the Surgery Connect Program for all our UnitingCare Hospitals and patients.
Reporting to the Surgery Connect Co-Ordinator the role will be required to work under limited supervision exercising judgement and discretion in the pursuit of the functional goals.
The role will work either individually or as part of the team fulfilling an end to end activity working to established procedures. A key feature of this role will be the ability to organize, influence and communicate with others.
Liaise with Practice Managers of Visiting Medical Practitioners (VMPs) for patient appointment tracking in a time sensitive manner.
  • Action new referrals by collating appropriate documentation and sending correspondence to VMPs.
  • Upload any documentation relevant to the patient’s admission to the SCAN platform within agreed KPI timeframes.
  • Record and submit invoices to finance for provider payments
  • Undertake general administrative tasks
What makes a difference for us?
  • Previous experience in a hospital or medical environment will be highly regarded
  • Previous administration experience in a high volume environment
  • Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level with sound numeracy skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem solving abilities to manage competing priorities
  • The ability to communicate well with others
  • The ability to work autonomously whilst also being part of a team.
  • Data entry and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with sound written and oral communication skills.
