Collins aerospace is looking to hire Surface Finish Inspector; who will perform visual and dimensional inspection of machined assemblies, plated assemblies and final acceptance, in accordance with blueprint and specification requirements. Typical inspections consist of using standard measuring instruments as well as special measuring instruments and gages. They will also be required to review and complete inspection records and rejection documentation.  This position will have clerical work aspect as well.

Work Shift: second shift ; Monday – Friday (5 x 8)

What You Will Do:

  • Ability to work varying shifts, or overtime as required

  • Perform detailed product inspections on in-process and finished goods, including but not limited to First Article Inspections.         

  • Document characteristics of products accurately and with technical detail.          

  • Initiate Quality Notifications for any non-conforming products.

  • Apply quality assurance procedures and requirements for the inspection of assemblies and to document findings.

  • Identify any potential quality issues early and help to prevent their re-occurrence.

  • Communicate effectively to other Collins Aerospace personnel any quality issues needing resolution.

  • Monitor and utilize calibrated measuring instruments.

  • Safely Preform other duties as assigned

  • Scan completed documents into our electronic records management system.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS diploma or GED and minimum 4 years experience in quality inspection.

  • Experience in visual and mechanical inspection techniques.

  • Experience performing measurements with Precision measurement tools, such as micrometers and calipers.

  • Experience with paint inspection

  • Experience with receiving inspection

  • Experience performing manufacturing or product inspections using blueprints and specifications.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of basic computer software (word, excel and outlook).

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages to the 4th decimal point.

  • The ability to utilize computer systems including input of data and retrieval of information for inspections and configuration purposes.

  • The ability to review documents and to identify and resolve any errors or missing information.

  • Ability to use operating software including SAP

  • 3+ years in an Aerospace or similar inspection role.

The salary range for this role is 74,068 CAD - 87,144 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
