Major Duties:

  • You will lead and supervise a team of IT professionals, managing daily work priorities, conducting performance evaluations, interviewing candidates, and handling personnel matters.
  • You will serve as the technical authority for enterprise architecture, translating operational capabilities into technical requirements and planning resilient system designs.
  • You will ensure all network systems and architectures strictly adhere to organizational cybersecurity guidelines, evaluating security designs and supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
  • You will direct the long-range planning, installation, and optimization of large-scale Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, and complex wireless networks to guarantee enterprise scalability, security, and optimum throughput.
  • You will establish and define critical system availability levels, ensuring robust disaster recovery, continuity of operations (COOP), and fail-over strategies are integrated into all network designs.
  • You will develop and execute comprehensive implementation strategies and schedules for complex, multi-stage IT projects and enterprise component integrations.
  • You will provide expert analysis and troubleshoot highly complex information technology problems, resolving the most difficult integration and customer support challenges.
  • You will formulate and prepare actionable policy and procedure implementation statements derived from federal laws, government-wide regulations, and internal directives
  • You will act as a senior technical consultant, persuasively explaining cross-functional IT strategies, project costs, and risk assessments to both internal teams and leadership.
  • You will build and maintain strategic relationships with a variety of external contacts, influencing stakeholders and driving cooperation on major organizational IT initiatives.

Qualifications: You are required to have information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: thoroughly evaluating complex network designs, security services, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy, operational readiness, and compliance. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Serving as primary escalation point for resolving the most difficult, highly complex customer support requests involving enterprise network integration and configuration. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presenting highly complex technical facts, risk assessments, and cross functional IT strategies to diverse audiences in a clear and persuasive manner. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: applying expert analysis to research and resolve highly complex information technology challenges. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you are required to have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Designing, implementing, and managing enterprise networks across multiple transport environments. Performing security reviews, identifying gaps in network architecture, and implementing solutions. This position is within the Work Category Supervision/Management at Work Level SENIOR, Series and Grade GG-2210-14.
