The Training & Simulation business unit develops and manufactures training systems, primarily for military users. We offer a wide range of products and services, including world-leading laser simulators for live training, force-on-target applications, virtual simulations and training services. Training & Simulation operates globally, employing over 650 people in many countries, and we are currently expanding our operations with new training facilities in Poland.

In this role you will use your leadership, knowledge, expertise and technical know-how to contribute to the training support, raising the skills of participants to a higher level and helping to create a safe environment in Europe and beyond.
In this position, you will work at our training centre in the Podkarpackie Province. You will receive comprehensive training to become an expert in all aspects of the Saab laser simulation system and its wide range of applications and subsystems. This system is crucial for providing simulation and training support to soldiers, and you will play a key role in organising training at the training centre.
You will report directly to the Training Services Manager (TSM), who will be based at Saab's main training and simulation centre in Huskvarna, Sweden, and will have overall responsibility for the delivery of training services. You will lead a team tasked with ensuring the optimisation of Saab's products and the effective delivery of on-site training.
As the manager of our support activities, you will play a key role in ensuring that the interests of Saab and our international partners are met in accordance with the highest standards. You will be responsible for maintaining all training and simulation equipment at the designated location, ensuring its maintenance, distribution and configuration to provide customers with the best possible training conditions. You must be open, loyal and honest, trust your colleagues and honour agreements, decisions and processes.
This position will be suitable for a high-calibre manager with a strong analytical approach and the ability to find practical and pragmatic solutions under pressure.
The main responsibilities will include:
Organising and managing the training centre's activities and ensuring that they are carried out in accordance with the contract, local laws and regulations, and defined processes, policies and strategies.
Planning operational support for the customer, coordinating activities with the team to achieve the best training results. Identifying and resolving issues early on so as not to disrupt the pace of training.
Develop strong relationships with customers and be their first point of contact for all training support requirements. Collaborate and coordinate with planners and training leaders to maximise the effectiveness of Saab products and services in relation to key training objectives.
Maintain operational readiness of all equipment as per contract, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
Ensure maintenance of training systems provided by Saab Training & Simulation and optimise their configuration.
Ensure that spare parts inventory is adequate for the purpose and meets the requirements of the support contract.
Responding promptly to customer requests, fulfilling them where appropriate and finding alternative solutions when necessary.
Maintain and develop staff competence through training and individual performance management.
Lead, motivate and manage the team, providing them with all the information, resources and support necessary to perform their tasks effectively.
Develop the team, instil Saab's core values and compliance with Saab's internal policies.
Responsibility for the budget for training services at the training centre.
Reporting the operational status to your supervisor in accordance with quality procedures.
Maintain work instructions for all locations and ensure that all employees comply with them.
Perform assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and internal policies, and monitoring occupational safety issues.
Good knowledge of integrated logistics support (ILS) and how to implement it to achieve operational excellence.
Experience working in a military training environment.
Knowledge of military doctrines, organisational structures, techniques and procedures.
Strong motivation and focus on task completion.
Strong leadership skills and experience in line management.
Strong technical skills.
Experience in finance and budgeting.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Category B driving licence (B+E preferred).
Fluent English.
Be prepared to participate in overseas business travels.
