Job summary:.

This position is responsible for providing incident, change request and enhancement support to Application Management Services (AMS) customers for BW & BOBJ.

Experienced consultant with extensive hands-on experience in  SAP BO focused on Information Design Tool (IDT) , Web Intelligence (Webi) report development, crystal, Analysis and SAP BW data models in live landscape.

The individual requires ability to configure, lead, mentor, and direct clients. Should be capable of managing multiple customer systems, identifying, and resolving issues along with coming up with solutions to customer requirements. In this capacity, the SAP BW & BO consultant is responsible for delivering high customer satisfaction and provide enhanced support in all the areas of SAP BOBJ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 AMS support for SAP BW (On HANA/classic) and SAP BO ( Webi, Crystal, Analysis etc.) ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests within SLA.
• Analyze and resolve data load failures, DTP/process chain issues, query errors, BO report failures and performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain and enhance BW data models, infoProviders, ADSOs, InfoObjects, InfoCubres, CompositeProviders, MultiProviders and Open ODS Views.
• Develop and maintain Web Intelligence reports using the latest versions of Business Objects software, with a specific focus on report formatting and layout design
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and translate them into effective report designs that meet business needs
• Utilize the Information Design Tool (IDT) to create and maintain universes, ensuring data integrity and accurate reporting
• Apply advanced formatting techniques to enhance the visual appeal and usability of reports, including charting, conditional formatting, and interactive features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to report design, data connectivity, and performance optimization.
• Stay updated on the latest BW and Business Objects features, best practices, and industry trends related to report formatting and presentation.
• Assist with Business Objects administration tasks, including user management, security setup, and system configuration, as needed
• Continuously assess and improve report development processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality

Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience. 

Experience 

• At least 5-8 years of support experience with SAP BW and BO.
• Solid understanding of BW data modeling, ETL design and monitoring.
• Proven experience in performance tuning BW queries and BO reports and in optimizing data loads and process chains.
• Working Knowledge and in depth understanding of Business Objects Platform (4.x)
• Strong expertise in report migration across different Universes
• Good understanding for SAP BICS connectivity and experience in creating OLAP Universes & WEBI reports using BEX queries
• Experience in mapping business requirements to functional and technical specs, and deliver reports
• Strong experience on design and development of Universes using IDT/UDT, Webi, BO launch pad, Dashboards, and visualization
• Strong experience in Experience in consumption of multiple sources like BW4HANA, S4HANA, HANA, BODS etc.
• Experience development of reports with multiple tabs, multiple queries on a single screen, list & crosstab reports, charts, hyperlinking, drill down and drill through
• Experience in Data analysis and able to reconcile data with source systems
• Good Knowledge of Data Warehouse, BI Concepts and SQL
• Good knowledge on CMC and security aspect (BO users/groups/folders? etc.) and security setup based on SAP (BW4HANA and S4HANA) roles
• Knowledge on SAP BODS / Data Services, AFO and Tableau
• Good to have knowledge on SAP BW4HANA/HANA source objects like Bex Queries and Calculation views

• Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients
• Strong knowledge of key application functionality, tables, and relationships
• Deep knowledge of SAP customization/extension methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – verbal & written
• Fluency in English is required
• Attention to detail and the ability to learn quick
• Extreme focus on Client satisfaction
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations
