The primary purpose of this position is To provide supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage, or other items that are unique to the organization's mission or are seldom handled.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. EXPERIENCE: Must have one year of experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or next lower pay band of NJ-01 in the federal service which includes knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles and concepts, unique supplies, equipment and parts requiring unusual degree of protection in shipment and storage, and determine the best method of procurement and other issues that influence supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Ideal Candidate: Team player with self starter abilities. Air Force Vehicle Logistics/Transportation experience. GPC and tool control experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions. Intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for test operations, overhaul, repair, or other operations for urgent critical shortages and other special items. Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, work methods and of data entry and processing of transaction in an automated supply systems. Knowledge of a variety of automated systems such as the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS), Integrated Logistics System -Supply (ILS-S), Enterprise Environmental Safety Occupational Health-Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) to search, analyze,track and monitor supplies. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements and to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Knowledge of office automation software procedures and functions keys to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
