Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Off-Wing Operations Team, based in Derby.

Aftermarket Operations is part of the Civil Aerospace division, providing aftermarket support for our Civil Aerospace customers. Our Off-Wing Operations team is responsible for the execution of aftermarket services and includes accountability for the performance of the external supply chain.

As Supply Planner within Civil Aftermarket Operations, you will play a key role in the overall Supplier (Overhaul Base) Planning and Control relationship, performing key activities to ensure we determine the correct assumptions and therefore capacity in our Overhaul Network, whilst feeding this into SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) cycles and reschedule activity. We aspire for our Supply Planners to make a step change in our P&C function and integration with the bases themselves, improving our Planning capability internally and externally.

In this role you will manage high profile external suppliers and Joint Ventures and will directly impact the ability of Aftermarket Operations to meet the demand from engine Value Stream teams, Fleet Planning, and eventually our end customers, contributing to the Financial Plan driving Civil Aerospace profitability. This is a challenging environment which will give you exposure to specific capacity issues and require you to drive cross-functional resolutions to improve.

Using standard processes, a production governance system and Planning and Control best practice, as well as being responsible for the P&C supplier relationship, you will link in with supplier delivery performance including inductions, gate rates, WIP levels and outputs which will feed the longer-term plan in the Off-Wing Operations Team. You will use this governance to facilitate the necessary conversations to improve and line up the Rolls-Royce assumptions across the network with proven capacity and targeted growth, whilst linking in with any Strategic Projects and Commercial strategy. You will also contribute to and drive longer term improvements to the Supply Planning Processes and Operating System, ensuring the tools and methods we use are fit for purpose and relevant as the Off-Wing Operations landscape grows and evolves. A key part of this role will be the development and execution of the SIOP process for capacity, linking in with Operational Teams and Central Portfolio

What you will be doing:

  •  Lead capacity validation activities with the Overhaul bases including: Order Book Reviews, Load and Capacity Reviews and Supplier Planning Assessments
  • Challenge the OHB’s and cross-functional internal teams to drive actions leading to improved MRO capacity through a Supplier Engagement Plan kept regularly updated and maintained, attending Supplier Planning Reviews with Operations and Commercial leadership
  • Regular working level reviews with Induction Planning to supply Baseline, review Operational performance and reasons for deviation
  • Regular working sessions with Commercial teams to understand OHB agreements, growth plans and any commercial sensitivities affecting capacity or growth
  • Gather assumptions from the OHB’s, Project Teams, Capability and Capacity Teams, Operational Teams and Commercial Teams, which will feed into the SIOP question and also a Capacity Grid which you will populate, own and update, putting forward assumptions for Scheduling
  • Lead the SIOP process for your OHB’s including creation of a Question, facilitate Response Review and Closeout Packs, and feed the output into the Planning & Customer Operations Manager to allow creation of a network-wide view of capacity
  • Capacity Modelling activity for SIOP – working with parameters of assumptions and limitations in OHB’s whilst working to achieve most efficient capacity module to suit the OHB and demand requirements
  • Sharing best practice and leading and facilitating improvements with other Supply Planners on both Capacity

Position Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to challenge internally and/or externally, managing multiple actions and initiatives
  • Experience and previous application of Planning and Control processes whether in an OE or Aftermarket environment
  • Proven indirect leadership skills with ability to manage across multiple direct and indirect cross-functional teams, dealing with an external supply chain or customers and delivering under challenging circumstances
  • Proven communicator with an ability to adapt to working with multiple different cultures daily
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence other managers and higher level leaders in a complex matrixed organisation

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to manage, develop and problem solve a complex process that spans organisational boundaries
  • Proven ability to implement improvement activity and manage change
  • Able to deal with high level of ambiguity and act with agility when liaising with individuals in an operational environment

Regional Benefits:

  • Join a culture that values making a real difference through your work.
  • Develop your career as a mid-career professional blending technical expertise with strong personal qualities.
  • Thrive in a role that encourages integrity, accountability, resilience, and curiosity.
  • Collaborate and build relationships in a team-focused environment while also working independently.
  • Take initiative, lead, and make smart decisions with confidence and support.
  • Grow through continuous learning, openness to improvement, and exposure to challenging opportunities.
